In The Flesh: Red Bar San Francisco

This past Saturday, the San Francisco chapter of the ubiquitous Red Bar Crew convened to address its usual agenda of fondling each others watches over more than a few drinks. Red Bar San Francisco has recently come into being mostly due to the hard work of Kyle from @OCwatchcompany, with assistance from local collectors, and, as expected, it’s been nothing short of a smashing success. The past week’s gathering brought together some familiar faces and some new ones including representatives from the local watch industry, including sales reps, watchmakers and of course, collectors.

Of note was the collection of one @royal.estate, whose collection focuses almost exclusively on vintage French military-issued watches. This week, he brought out some especially interesting pieces including a fantastic Breguet French Marine Nationale deck chronometer, and a stunningly patinated Longines 13ZN chronograph. I could go on and on and talk about my rare and wonderful Lapis Lazuli Memovox, or heirloom IWC pocket watch with two-tone mother of pearl dial featuring applied numerals, but I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves.
